Terms of Service

Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Lyra ("Lyra", "the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Lyra.

What Lyra is

Lyra is a Mac application that rewrites text you type in other applications. It requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. Rewriting happens entirely on your device.

Your account

You need a Google account to use Lyra. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Lyra account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to use Lyra.

Purchases, trial and subscriptions

Free trial: new accounts receive a one-time 7-day free trial of Lyra's on-device features. No card is required. After the trial, using Lyra requires a purchase or a Lyra Cloud subscription.

Lyra (one-time purchase): $69.99, paid once. It gives you lasting use of Lyra's on-device features on your Mac, including updates to them. It does not include Lyra Cloud.

Lyra Cloud (subscription): $9.99/month or $99.99/year. It adds cloud rewriting and the other cloud features described on How Lyra uses the cloud, and it includes use of Lyra's on-device features for as long as the subscription is active.

Earlier Pro customers: if you paid for a Lyra Pro subscription before 14 October 2026, you own Lyra's on-device features as if you had bought the one-time purchase. An active Pro subscription continues as Lyra Cloud until it ends.

Payments are processed by Stripe. CODE NINJA COACHING LIMITED is the merchant of record; Stripe handles payment processing, tax calculation, and invoicing on our behalf. Your contract for both payment and the Lyra service is with CODE NINJA COACHING LIMITED.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly). You can cancel at any time through the customer portal accessible from Lyra Settings (Manage subscription), or by contacting us.

Refunds

One-time purchase: you may request a refund within 14 days of buying Lyra by contacting us at founder@heylyra.co.uk. A refunded purchase ends your use of Lyra's on-device features. After 14 days, the purchase is non-refundable.

Lyra Cloud: you may request a refund within 30 days of any subscription payment by contacting us at the same address. After 30 days, subscription payments are non-refundable.

Intellectual property

Lyra (the application, branding, and underlying code) is owned by CODE NINJA COACHING LIMITED. The text you write and the rewrites Lyra produces belong to you.

The local model files distributed with Lyra are licensed from their original creators under their respective open-source licences. Attribution and licence information is included in the application.

Service availability

We aim to keep Lyra working reliably but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The application may have downtime for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. Account and subscription features depend on our backend services; if they are temporarily unavailable, you may be unable to sign in or have your subscription validated, though the rewriting feature itself runs on your device.

A one-time purchase keeps working offline. If Lyra cannot reach our backend for more than 7 consecutive days, Lyra Cloud features are paused, and for subscribers who have not bought Lyra the app is paused too, until connectivity is restored.

Termination

You can stop using Lyra at any time. You can delete your account from the Data Controls page or by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we are required to by law. We will give reasonable notice except where immediate action is necessary.

Liability

Lyra is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Lyra. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email and on this page. Continued use of Lyra after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
